Michael Koreski of Parkersburg won on a tie-breaker with Chuck Workman of Marlinton, shooting a one over par 71, to earn Wednesday’s Little General Stores Low Round of the Day at the West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA) Senior Series event at Fincastle Country Club in Bluefield, Va.

Koreski said, “Today was tough with the heat, but I was able to take advantage of a quick start and hold steady throughout the round.”

“Today the players had to battle the extreme heat along with a demanding golf course that made them work for every inch,” said WVGA Tournament Manager Chance Hindbaugh. “The folks at Fincastle have the golf course in spectacular shape and it sure showed what a test it was during the round.”
