Tanner Vest of Shady Spring took overall Medalist honors at the 2022 Mid-Atlantic Junior Invitational Oct. 15 and 16 at Glade Springs Resort with a one under par 107 for the two-day event. West Virginia’s team finished third behind teams from Virginia and Maryland.
Other West Virginia team members were Argyle Downes of Charles Town tied for seventh, Jack Michael of Huntington tied for 11th, Mario Palumbo of Charleston finishing 15th, Matthew Carney of Barboursville and Jackson Woodburn of Scott Depot tied for 17th, with Stephen McDavid of Scott Depot finishing 21st and Andrew Johnson of Fraziers Bottom finishing 23rd.
Play was shortened from 18 holes on Saturday to nine holes on Sunday due to weather. Each team had eight players, with the best six scores counting toward the team total each day.
The Invitational took place on the Cobb Course at Glade Springs.
