The Callaway Junior Tour, sponsored by Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal and hosted by the West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA), saw a field of 65 young golfers Wednesday at Greenhills Country Club in Ravenswood.
Ben Marsh of Summersville won the Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal Round of the Day for boys with a one over par 73. The Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal Round of the Day for girls went to Kerri-Anne Cook of Oceana with a two over par 74.
Marsh said, “I made some birdies today by hitting some shots close to the hole,” while Cook said, “I was happy with the way I played today and thank the WVGA for making this event possible.”
Stephen McDavid of Scott Depot won a two-hole playoff for the Boys 15-16 Division against Carson Moore of Belpre, Ohio, and Jackson Woodburn of Scott Depot.
“We’re glad kids are playing golf and we are very excited to have all these kids here,” said Greenhills’ General Manager Lisa Fox. “We’re thankful to have the chance to host these young golfers.”
“We had a great start to the final week of the Callaway Junior Tour regular season here at Greenhills Country Club in Ravenswood,” said WVGA Tournament Manager – Youth Operations Lucas Ware.
Division winners were:
- Boys 12 & under: Wyatt Maynard of Barboursville;
- Boys 13-14: McCartney Hinkle of Bluefield, Va.;
- Boys 15-16: Stephen McDavid of Scott Depot;
- Boys 17-18: Ben Marsh of Summersville;
- Girls 10-14: McKenna Knotts of Bridgeport; and
- Girls 15-18: Kerri-Anne Cook of Oceana.
