“I played consistently today and it was nice to hit all 18 greens in regulation,” Jack Michael said.

The Callaway Junior Tour Northern Swing, presented by the Cindy O’Donnell Foundation, sponsored by Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal and hosted by the West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA), saw a field of 92 young golfers Thursday at Oglebay Resort.

Jack Michael of Huntington won the Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal Round of the Day for boys with an even par 71.  The Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal Round of the Day for girls went to Kerri-Anne Cook of Oceana with a five over par 77.

In the girls’ 10-14 division, Audrey Kerr of Bridgeport defeated Madilyn Buttrey of Williamstown to take divisional honors.

“The Cindy O’Donnell Foundation is for my mom, who passed in 2009,” said Foundation President Patrick O’Donnell, the golf professional at TPC Minneapolis.  “Sports was her passion.  She loved to watch me play golf and my brothers play other sports.  This Northern Swing partnership with the WVGA ties to our core values, including youth athletics.”

“We’re excited to have the junior golfers here today,” said Oglebay Resort’s General Manager of Golf Operations Danny Ackerman.  “We love catering to young golfers.”

“The final event of the Northern Swing went great thanks to the amazing staff at Oglebay Resort,” said WVGA Tournament Manager – Youth Operations Lucas Ware.  “The final week of the regular season next week will be a fun three events.”

Division winners were:

  • Boys 12 & under: Drew Marling of Glen Dale;
  • Boys 13-14: Solas Chhin-Kreiner of Morgantown;
  • Boys 15-16: Jack Michael of Huntington;
  • Boys 17-18: Bobby Kincaid of Nampa, Idaho;
  • Girls 10-14: Audrey Kerr of Bridgeport; and
  • Girls 15-18: Kerri-Anne Cook of Oceana.
