The Callaway Junior Tour, sponsored by Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal and hosted by the West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA), visited The Pines Country Club in Morgantown with a field of nearly 100 golfers Wednesday.
Jackson Woodburn of Scott Depot defeated McCartney Hinkle of Bluefield, Va., in a playoff to win the Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal Round of the Day for boys. He scored a one over par 72.
Kerri-Anne Cook of Oceana won the Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal Round of the Day for girls with an eight over par 79. She said, “I always love coming to play The Pines. It’s always in great condition and today was no different.”
“The Pines is one of my favorite courses in the state. Russell and the entire staff make you feel welcome and the golf course conditions compete with any club around,” said WVGA Tournament Manager – Youth Operations Lucas Ware.
“We love growing the game of golf and having the youth here. The event was sold out with nearly 100 players,” said The Pines’ Head Golf Pro Russell Reid. “The golf course is spectacular and we think this may be the best event they’ll play this year.”
