The West Virginia Senior Open, hosted by the West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA), saw Pat Carter of Hurricane take his third consecutive Senior Open title and his first win of the season at the Parkersburg Country Club.

“Pat is the most decorated amateur golfer in our state,” said WVGA Executive Director Brad Ullman. “Three Senior Open titles in a row is certainly special.”
Carter, who scored a total of 10 birdies over the two-day event, finished the Senior Open at five under par 141. Ty Roush of Mason finished four behind, followed by Michael Koreski of Parkersburg in third place at the end of the event.
“I enjoyed today with Ty (Roush) and John (Ross). These guys played goof and it was a great test of golf,” Carter said. “Scott Davidson and Parkersburg Country Club deserve thanks for another great event. The course was great.”
Scott Bibbee of Vienna took top honors in the Senior Division with a two over par 148, scoring nine birdies along the way.

“We looked forward to getting the best professional and amateur players together and see who came out on top,” said Parkersburg’s Head Golf Pro Scott Davidson.
“On behalf of the WVGA, I’d just say congratulations to Pat Carter on his third consecutive Senior Open championship,” said WVGA Director of Operations and Tournaments Chris Slack. “This was a good mix of professionals and amateurs and Pat played great to take the title over two other past champions.”
