The Callaway Junior Tour, sponsored by Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal and hosted by the West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA), opened its 39th season May 31 on the Cobb course at The Resort at Glade Springs.  Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal Rounds of the Day for boys went to McCartney Hinkle of Bluefield, Va. at one under par on a playoff with Jack Michael of Huntington and for girls to Savannah Hawkins of Hurricane at three over par.

“I kept myself out of trouble and was able to make just enough putts to win the Low Round on one of my favorite courses,” Savannah Hawkins said, adding, “Thank you to the staff at Glade Springs.”

“We couldn’t have asked for better weather to start our 39th Callaway Junior Tour season and it was exciting to see the great turnout of parents and spectators to watch our 91 players,” said WVGA Tournament Manager – Youth Operations Lucas Ware.

Director of Golf and Grounds at The Resort at Glade Springs Keith Honaker said, “We’re glad the weather cooperated and we hope the kids had a great day.”

Other division winners were:

  • Boys 12 & Under: Malachi Flohr of Daniels;
  • Boys 13-14: McCartney Hinkle of Bluefield, Va.;
  • Boys 15-16: Jack Michael of Huntington;
  • Boys 17-18: Matthew Carney of Barboursville;
  • Girls 10-14: Audrey Kerr of Bridgeport; and
  • Girls 15-18: Savannah Hawkins of Hurricane.
