
Winners in the Championship Flight were Jared and Tony Bryant, with a 20 under par (124). They said, “We had a blast! This event is so much fun and we look forward to it every year.”
The 32nd WV Parent/Child Championship, conducted by the West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA), at The Resort at Glade Springs, crowned its champions
today.
Winners in the Championship Flight were Jared and Tony Bryant, with a 20 under par (124). They said, “We had a blast! This event is so much fun and we look
forward to it every year.”
The Mother-Child Champions are Linda and Jared Taylor with an eight under par (136) for the two days.
The Extended Family Champions are Matthew Barrish and David Briggs, with a nine under par (135) for the tournament.
Larry Hawkins and daughter Savannah were winners of the First Flight with a 16 under par (128). Larry Hawkins said, “This is the most enjoyable event I have ever been a part of.”
Other Flight winners were:
- Second Flight: Joe and Meredith Crislip;
- Third Flight: Jim and Stephen Rogers (photo unavailable);
- Fourth Flight: Harry and Josh Arose;
- Fifth Flight: Brant and Jimmy Cochran; and
- Sixth Flight: Drew and Jonathan Winkler.
“The courses were in great shape this weekend for what is one of our top events of the season,” said Head Golf Pro Kyle Long.
The 36-hole Championship featured a sold-out field of 240 players competing on the Resort’s Cobb Course and the Village at Glade Springs Stonehaven Course. The format was a two-person scramble and tees were based off each player’s age. Each team must count at least six tee shots from each team member.
