The 2021 West Virginia Senior Four-Ball Championship started play yesterday with 34 two-man teams from across the state at the Parkersburg Country Club in Vienna. The final round, today, saw winners in both the Senior Division and Championship Division calling Parkersburg home.
The Championship, conducted by the West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA), is for players age 50 and up.
Championship Division Champions Mike Koreski and Chris Christian, both of Parkersburg, won in a sudden death playoff against Randy Rogers and Rick Rhoades, also both of Parkersburg. Tied at the end of 18 holes of play, Koreski made an 8-foot birdie putt on the first playoff hole to win. Koreski and Christian shot a tournament low 65 today to get into the playoff. Christian said, “It was great playing our home track and representing Parkersburg Country Club.”
Senior Division Champions were Scott Bibbee and Bill Boyle, both of Parkersburg. They shot one under par in yesterday’s first round and six under par in today’s final round. Bibbee and Boyle each made three birdies in today’s final round. “We both played really well today, both shot under par and when we missed a shot we helped each other out,” said Bibbee.
